NJTL Program (Ages 6-18)

Fall Session 2016/2017 School Year

The USTA/National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) sponsored by Todd Martin Youth Leadership will be offered at Michigan State University Tennis Center: Fall Session will begin on October 7th and run through December 9th, 2016. Classes will be offered through Lansing Park and Recreation. Individuals interested in taking part in these classes can register by phone, fax, in person at one of the three Lansing Community Centers using our printable 2016 Fall Registration Form. Registration scholarships are available. Sign up online on the Lansing Parks and Recreation website and save $5.

NJTL Tennis is a tennis development program open to youth, ages 6—18.  Practices/matches will focus on development and competition of the beginner and intermediate player starting with the new Quick Start Tennis approach. The QuickStart format utilizes modified tennis balls, smaller tennis racquets and a smaller tennis court to make it easier for students to start playing tennis almost immediately - even if they have never picked up a racquet before. The program is in cooperation with Michigan State University Tennis Center and Todd Martin Youth Leadership with Todd Martin Youth Leadership instructors. Classes will meet for 8 sessions at Michigan State University Indoor Tennis Center, 2571 East Mt. Hope, Lansing, MI 48910.

Winter Session 2015/2016 School Year

Summer 2016 Sessions

The U.S. Tennis Association/National Junior Tennis and Learning of Lansing (NJTL) is a tennis development program open to youth, ages 6—18. Instruction will focus on development and competition of the beginner and intermediate player.

The program also focuses on leadership, team building, life skills and problem solving skills. Leadership speakers will reinforce these skills along with field trips that may include The Kalamazoo Air Zoo, Detroit Science Center, BinderPark or Detroit Zoo, The Global Village, and the Lansing Lugnuts along with other similar trips.

An end of year tournament August 10 – 12, an awards family picnic on Thursday, August 11 to present trophies and leadership awards, and a last day USTA Play Day on Friday, August 12 (for both sessions' participants and families) along with a t-shirt for each participant round out the activities for the summer.

This program is provided and staffed by Todd Martin Youth Leadership. 4 week sessions.
